The Madness of March is Just Around the Corner

posted by Jason

Alright fella’s (and ladies) as you know it’s MARCH and as we all know it’s a time when guys get together and start betting on who they think is going to go ALL THE WAY!!! That’s right, it’s MARCH MADNESS!!! To me March Madness has always been more exciting than the NBA playoffs because every year you’re getting a new team. Players are constantly changing and sometimes the underdog really does come out on top. Plus you never know what could happen and the surprises really can end up shocking you. Like last year, when MIT finally produced a NCAA men’s basketball team that was a force to be reckoned with. These are the stories that make March Madness fun and exciting.

March 14th is the day that you should get all your friends together, sit around the T.V., and listen to the selection of who is going to be playing whom. This is when you get to start making your selections for who is going to make it to the final four. It’s during this time you separate the men from the boys. You know who really knows their stuff and find the “real” fans.

Now why talk about his on here? Well, it’s become a tradition to some and others want to start having it be a bigger part of their life.  So, the question is:

Who are you going to be cheering for?

Who do you think is going to take it all the way this year?

Is there going to be a change in scenery from what we are used to seeing every year?

Are the same schools going to be taking it to the end, or will someone switch it up and surprise us all?

And what crazy traditions do you have for March Madness?

Think Snow!

THINK SNOW!  Being a Utah local has it’s benefits, especially when it comes to our fabulous ski resorts.  The ability to ski a wide variety of resorts within a

short drive or bus ride is pretty amazing and something we should take advantage of.  Many skiers/snowboarders choose to buy a season pass, but for those of us who need more of a variety, buying coupon books, pre-season discoun

t tickets, and resort frequent skier cards is the way to go.

Check out this website for details.

And get ready to hit the slopes!  The snows a comin’.

Bee’s Baseball Game

posted by Chris

bxp266542Recently, Mike, Alyana, and I headed out to the Bees Baseball game. John Lackey, the Los Angeles Angel’s all-star pitcher was making a rehab start for the Salt Lake Bees. There have been several players who come down occasionally from the Angels to the Bees, but no one as famous as John Lackey. My friends and I jumped at the chance to see an all-star here in Salt Lake. Lackey pitched a dominating 4 2/3 innings on a strict 60 pitch count. We noticed that there is a big difference in the major and minor league pitchers in regards to control. It was great to watch him pitch. The other Bee’s players jumped in the spot light as well when TWO grand slams were hit in the 4th inning. The Bee’s pitching staff combined to pitch a 1-hitter, the first in Bee’s history, winning 13-0 against the Tacoma Rainiers.

Do you remember the first time you got to see one of your favorite players?

Water Aerobics

WateraerobicsI think this is what most people think of when they think of water aerobics. A bunch of old lady’s taking up the pool and using most of the good play space. Well the saying goes, if you can’t beat em, join em. So, willing to try just about anything once, that’s what I did. Wednesday night at the Gene Fullmer Fitness and Recreation Center in West Jordan, UT I joined roughly 30 ladies including my wife and sister-in-law along with 1 other man (my father-in-law) for an hour and a half workout in the pool. When I first showed up, judging by the look on most of their faces, they thought I was joking around. They soon found out though we were serious and ready to go. From Running in place to using floating dumbbells and yoga I worked out with these nice ladies.  I must admit that in then end I thoroughly enjoyed myself and in case you are wondering, it is a pretty good workout. I don’t know if I’ll be joining the ladies again anytime soon (my pride is just too much) but it was something fun to try once.
